A clear case of abuse. In Paris, an unscrupulous lawyer uses his beautiful wife (Ellen Richter) to further his own career. When he is killed under mysterious circumstances, the wife is accused. After she is acquitted, she starts a one-woman search to find the real culprit in the Parisian underworld. Initially a victim of male power games, Ellen Richter's character develops into a detective with a talent for disguise, who reinvents herself out of necessity. (Philipp Stiasny/Oliver Hanley)
Live music:
Pianist and violinist Günter A. Buchwald and drummer and percussionist Frank Bockius, both from Freiburg, are trailblazers of the silent film renaissance in Germany and virtuosos on their respective instruments. From Japan to California, Finland to Italy, they inspire audiences with their tireless curiosity and enthusiasm. Intelligent and unobtrusive as accompanists, they teach us to look and listen intently and to trace the inner movement of the films.
